Lusail City Signs Agreements to Build Four Schools
Lusail signed an agreement with four private schools to open their branches in the new city.
HE the Minister of Finance Ali Sherif al-Emadi, HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed bin Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi and Qatari Diar CEO Khaled Mohamed al-Sayed witnessed the signing of the agreement.
Lusail City Real Estate Development Company has allocated 75,000 metres to establish the schools.
Two of the schools will have kindergarten levels all the way to secondary level. These two schools will have a total of 3,400 students. A third elementary school will have a total of 550 students. All schools will operate starting the 2018/2019 academic year.
The city’s plan is to eventually build 26 schools for 26,000 students. Five of those schools will be independent ones.
Lusail City Real Estate Development Company said in a statement yesterday that it understands the value of building a strong educational infrastructure in achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
The Lusail City will be home to a full range of schools with world-class features.
The Supreme Education Council (SEC) is working with the Lusail Real Estate Development Company to implement the Lusail City Education Infrastructure Excellence (EIE) programme.
The city will include a full range of schools with world-class features.
The SEC has also said that there were plans in co-operation with Qatar’s top real estate developers to allocate land zones for establishing new schools and kindergartens.
Accordingly, a joint commission between the SEC and Lusail Real Estate Development Company has been formed to support Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Education and Training Sector Strategy (ETSS) by implementing Lusail City Education Infrastructure Excellence (EIE) programme.
Lusail City, spread over 38sq km, is master-planned to accommodate 200,000 residents, 170,000 workers and 80,000 daily visitors.
The Central Zone, also known as the heart of Lusail City, comprises the Com-mercial Waterfront District that forms the silhouette of Lusail City’s marina de-sign, the Lusail Towers District and Plaza that together form the face of Lusail City as the financial centre, and the Commercial Boulevard.
SEC is working with different partners to add significant number of school seats to the already existing 128,180 seats in the country.
There has been a great shortage of school seats due to the rapidly increasing population in the country.
